Ingrid Goes West pokes fun at our social media obsession

Ingrid Goes West is a satirical dark comedy about taking social media too seriously. Ingrid Thorburn (Aubrey Plaza) is an unstable girl from Pennsylvania that mistakes social media interactions with real life relationships. She moves to Los Angeles to befriend a social media influencer, Taylor Sloane (Elizabeth Olsen), and becomes obsessed with her. From the looks of the trailer, things get a little wild.

Not your ordinary Battle of the Sexes

Battle of the Sexes is loosely based off the famous 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs. Billie Jean King, played by Emma Stone, is considered the World’s Number One at the time, however, isn’t taken as serious as she should of because of sexism. Bobby Riggs, played by Steve Carrel, is a former tennis champion trying to get back in the spotlight and a sexist pig taking tons of cheap shots at King for being a woman. They agree to a tennis match that became one of the most watched television sports events of all time and was known as THE BATTLE OF THE SEXES. Here is an excerpt from the film’s trailer description:

5 awesome Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 posters created by Poster Posse

(featured image by Patrick Brown)

Some of the coolest posters are usually made by artists and designers that aren’t a part of the agencies hired by the movie studio to promote a film. These unofficial posters take the creative risks that otherwise would never make it to mainstream marketing, but they are beautiful nonetheless and worthy of a ton of attention!

Recently, some artists at Poster Posse decided to make a tribute to director James Gunn & Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. There were 5 Phases to this “Passion Project” of theirs, leading up to the release of the film this past weekend.

Here are 5 of our favorites!

Actor Overload

Who doesn’t like to laugh? It’s usually a rare treat to see a favorite actor within a role you may not typically see them play or finally getting to have your favorite comedians getting to collaborate in a film project together. However, sometimes these rare treats just don’t end up happening.
