Ingrid Goes West pokes fun at our social media obsession

Ingrid Goes West is a satirical dark comedy about taking social media too seriously. Ingrid Thorburn (Aubrey Plaza) is an unstable girl from Pennsylvania that mistakes social media interactions with real life relationships. She moves to Los Angeles to befriend a social media influencer, Taylor Sloane (Elizabeth Olsen), and becomes obsessed with her. From the looks of the trailer, things get a little wild.

The poster designed by Cayon is an ode to the West Coast and the party scene. Neon colors are a main component to the poster to emphasize the wild ride the film will take you through. The film’s title is done in a decorative typeface that resembles a neon sign and there is a palm tree coming out of the “W,” trees LA is known for. A phone with Elizabeth Olsen’s character is being held in Aubrey Plaza’s, mouth which goes hand in hand with the type on the bottom right that says, “Obsess much?”

Catch Ingrid Goes West in theaters on August 4, 2017.
