It Comes At Night makes you face your worst fear

It Comes at Night is a psychological horror film being released on June 9, 2017. From the looks of the trailer, one family gives refuge to another family in a cabin somewhere out in the wilderness. There’s a red door that’s supposed to stay locked at all times. Any activities that need to be done, should be done in the day time. They are all deathly afraid of the night. One night, the red door is wide open. They keep saying the work “sick” after, so we’re assuming it’s a kind of virus that turns people into monsters but the source only comes at night. It’s pretty daunting.

Spider-Man comes home via the BQE

Spider-Man Homecoming BQE Poster

SPIDER-MAN IS FINALLY BACK HOME! And I’m not just talking back to Queens, but back to Marvel Studios (suck it Sony.) In a way, the title, Spider-Man: Homecoming is a reference to Marvel Studios placing Peter Parker, this time played by Tom Holland, into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Where he belongs.

After some success in the beginning of the 2000’s, with Tobey Maguire playing the Web-Head in three films, the franchise died with Spider-Man 3 in 2007. I blame Topher Grace. The franchise was rebooted in 2012 as The Amazing Spider-Man with Andrew Garfield wearing the tights. That crash and burned after two films.

Baby Driver‘s (2017) Movie Poster resembles classic Saul Bass work. It’s pretty awesome.

Baby Driver is director Edgar Wright’s new… baby (excuse the pun). The film has a great cast, including Ansel Elgort, Lily James, Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx, and Jon Hamm. It revolves around Baby (Ansel Elgort), a young getaway driver who always has his headphones in, working for a crime lord (Kevin Spacey). Baby is the best in the game and music helps him do it.

The trailer itself reminds me of a lighthearted version of Drive (2011) but it’s the movie poster that really requires comparison to one of the greats: Saul Bass.

Power Rangers (2017)

The “teenagers with attitude” are back in this 2017 reboot of Power Rangers. The original show, Might Morphin Power Rangers premiered in the United States in 1993, following 5 friends: Jason, Kimberly, Trini, Zack, and Billy who were chosen to become the Power Rangers and save the world from Rita Repulsa, an alien woman bent on destruction.

Logan (2017)

Logan is the final farewell (allegedly) to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, after 17 years of portraying the character on the big screen. The story takes place in 2029, with the mutant population at an all time low and Logan’s power to self-heal slowly becoming a thing of the past. He lives his days under the radar, with his hand clutched around the bottle and being a chauffeur for extra cash. Logan takes care of an old and sick Professor Xavier somewhere near the Mexican border. Things take a turn for the worst when a stranger asks Logan to drive a young mutant named Laura to the Canadian border, not knowing that they both share DNA.
